Our first day at the orphanage
Our first day at the orphanage was pretty rough. We met all the boys but they were too excited to meet us. The boys took us on a tour of the whole orphanage. From the bathrooms to the basketball courts. We went to see their dorms and talked to their teachers and next thing you know when Darren and I turned around there was like thirty kids wanting to talk to us and shake our hands. It was like we were Biggie and Tupac. We found out that all of the boys were so friendly and harmless. As we got to know them more we started to exchange names and play with each other. Benson, Godfrey, Simon, and Dennis are so welcoming and warm-hearted.They showed us how to do everything and they were the ones that gave us the tour around the orphanage. They are very social and now they are not shy anymore. Now we are all friends.

Hey there my boy. Greetings from Home. I am happy to be reading your post. I hope you are making as many friends as possible. I want you to know that the school you are at is run by the same brothers that run Bishop Loughlin. One of the Brothers that looked out for my when I was at Loughlin is named Brother Dennis Lee and he was at the St. Mary's School for about two or three years. You are in Africa but are with people who know your parents here in Brooklyn. Take that in for a second. God gave you this amazing opportunity and now we find out that the trip connects back to us your mom and me. GOD IS GOOD> be happy and well my son and I am so proud of you and I love you very much. Remember my boy your LEGACY. Talk to you soon.

ReplyDeleteHi Kahlil,
ReplyDeleteYour actions at such a young age shows great courage and maturity to embark on a challenging journey that most adults are afraid to be exposed to. Keep up the good work and know that it does make a great difference in lives overseas and domestically (NYC). It will also open many avenues to future success.
Be bless.
